| Rick holds a BA in English from California
State University at Fullerton and a double master's degree in English and
history from Oregon State University. He began teaching at the college level
in 1993 at Linn-Benton Community College and Chemeketa Community College
in Oregon. His education and experience includes teaching all levels of
writing courses from developmental writing to research paper to business
and technical writing. Rick attended training for the Kentucky Virtual University in February 2000. He has been involved in the evolution of online education and has created several online courses for KYVU and other colleges. He currently teaches five courses online during regular semesters and at least three online courses during the summer term. Rick is excited about the future of online education and has received many positive comments from students about how online education meets their needs. His commitment is to improve online education by using the resources available from publishers as well as by improving the technology of each individual course so that students can gain as much or more from online courses as they can from courses taught on college campuses.
